Increasing zoo rating

What factors and/or objects affect the overall zoo rating? I've tried adding "attraction" buildings and decorative objects, but they don't seem to have any effect. Am I just not adding enough, or is there something else I should be doing?

Make sure you have tons of animals every where ,that is a huge factor in guest happiness.Make sure animals are on both sides and sometimes it help to use restaraunts instead of food courts because they fulfill all needs at once and that also means less garbage cans.

I'm having the same problem. No matter what I put in my zoo, or how many animals I have, I can' t get my rating above 82. I'm working on the surf & turf scenario, and even tried adding dinos, but no luck. Any other thoughts?

If you add large food courts, and have lots of flowres, and decorative things, your rating will go up... I keep most of my ratings 93+ by doing this.

I am now working on one of the advanced scenerios. The key to guest happyness is keeping the poo clean and fences fixed and lots of happy animals. Scan your zoo and drop a zoo keeper in the cage where poo needs cleaned up. ONE pile of POO will lower guest happiness. Also click on the tree at the bottonm right and your exhibit fences will pop up and show where fences need fixed either replace them or get a maintenance workere over there. I personally use the Bob V cheat. That is Rename a male maintence worker Bob V and hit enter and fences will be fixed. Later in the game , closer to the end is when fences start to break you you can bring up The Bob V worker and highlight his name and hit enter again and fence will be fixed.. Also notice that poo piles up in exhibits where animals have babies, Sell babies to keep poo down. or build a new exhibit and put them in . All that other stuff like scenery makes little difference In the advanced scenerio All I have is animals and restaraunts. guest happiness is 96 I also have one turtle fountain in the entrance.

The most important thing about Zoo rating--- is you cant do it fast-- it is like growing a plant-->>

To raise Zoo Rating Includes a number of things-->>
the 3 meters at the bottom of your screen--
Gate, animals and guest
the fuller they are the better - who to do that isnt so easy--- first the

Gate -- Gate fees are set in catigories-- free($0), very cheap($0.25-$9), cheap($9.25-$19), Normal ($19.25-$29), expensive ($29.25-$49), very expensive ($49.25 and over)
these catagorys effect your Zoo-- your gate fee is $22.?? at the start-- I suggest changing this to $29 right away-- at this point you dont need guests-- cause you dont have animals as you build you will need guests at that point you want to change the fee again to $19 -- dont bother with setting it at $25 or $22 cause that is the same as leaving it at $29-- that is why I had you raise it to begin with--- dont lower the gate fee if you dont have to though ok
Also make sure you arent lossing lots of money on particular food stands or Attractions-- it is best to set these prices at 75% of the start price

Animals -- the Happiness of your animals is the whole point of your Zoo there are a lot of points to this one--
1) make sure all animals are getting cared for --fed and cleaned up after
2) ask for Zoo Keeper recomendations-- and fix the ones in red first -- but read everything before fixing anything-- ((it may say in red that there is too much grass-- but in black it may say needs dirt -- basically replace some grass with dirt))
3) after Zoo Keeper recomends that the exhibit is well suited for the animal-- check back with him later-- also ask for each animal in the exhibit-- each animal has its own needs also-- one might need a mate you never know
4)to stop crowding (too many animals in one exhibit) --- ** Do Not Sell Baby Animals -- instead sell all but 2 male and 2 female adults and keep all babies (NOTE: I suggest 4 male and 4 female adults for endangered Species, generally)
5) Note: that where I have stated Zoo Keeper above is-- a Marine Biologist for aquatic animal exhibits and a Scientist for dino exhibits

Last but not least
Guests-- the hardest to please-- how-->>
1) 35% --make sure the gate meter is high
2) 35% -- make sure the animal Meter is High
3) 30% -- make sure their needs are met -- for example -- batrooms, food services, benches everywhere, trash cans where needed and lots of decoration (after all the came to enjoy the natural beauty of wildlife) Also needed are the Atractions --like an animal theater or carousel
High Happiness rated Items--Turtle fountain, Duck Pond,Brick Wall, carousels, Japanese Gardens
medium Happiness Items --Big horn statue, elephant fountain,picket Fence, cast Iron fence, petting Zoo, Animal Theater, Aviary, Animal Theater

place less of--
trash cans --- by using resteraunts instead
Trash all over -- it is better to have trash cans
Compost building--- I hind this in a corner at least 10 or more squares away from anywhere a guest will wonder to--- build a mote if ya have to hehehe the compost doesnt require much of a road any way hehe -- In my best Zoo I created an ashphalt road that leads all the way down to my compost building -- stuck in a corner next to a large stone exibit-- then I roped off the road hehehe

Sup guys, I used to have a CD copy of this game when I was 7. I'm 24 right now and just downloaded it 4 days ago. My current zoo rating is 91 right now. I started on a large sandy map with 10k. After many many red numbers, failed experiments and bad money management, my zoo is finally thriving.
